S1P10: The Monday Killer

December 2, 2011
Its a monday again
And instead of waiting at the headquarters waiting for someone to die, the team decided to stalk Norman the whole day as they felt that he could be the next target with his cut on his left eyebrow.
Yet as the team of 4 were in their care, something in Azri knew they would be fruitless.

"You know the killer wont strike today"

" The killer cant be ************** ! The killers out there you have to protect Norman!"

It was as if there was an angel and devil on Azri's shoulders as he had conflicting thoughts.
As the clock approached closer to midnight, the team payed more attention to Norman as they were monitering him in his flat from the streets. " Its so quiet around here, i doubt anything will happen."Bryan said. "Still, we've got to keep a look out for the killer," Alice contributed her opnion. Azri chuckled to himself, as if sarcastically.

00:00 the clock in the car showed

So for the first time in god knows how many weeks, the monday killer did not strike. Angus took up the day's newspaper which headlines were " INEFFICIENT POLICE FAILS TO NAB MONDAY KILLER. WILL HE STRIKE AGAIN?" and replied no, as if he was talking to the newspaper.

"of course the killer didn't strike. You know why and you knew it was going to turn out like that." The devil in azri said.

S1P9: The Monday Killer

"A prosthetic limb is an artificial device used to replace a missing body part lost through injury, accident or by birth.  A transhumeral prosthetis is an artificial limb that replaces an arm missing above the elbow. It is usually made of plastic and other materials like carbon fiber..................................................................."

That was the first paragraph of the report prepared by the forensic department.
The team had discovered a plastic tube at the scene of Xavier's body on their second search and handed it over to the forensics to study it.

" So the plastic tube is part of an prosthetic arm?" Azri quizzed as he looks at the report together with the team, which consisted of Alice as well.

" Yes, a prosthetic arm is made of many plastic materials and a tube is part of it to hold the arm together" Alice answered based on her knowledge and experience, having own a prosthetic arm as well.

" If the killer has a prosthetic arm... its not possible for him or for her to have the strength to murder someone and chop off their limbs as well? Would it not be too much of a job for a fake arm?"

"One thing is for sure, and thats if the killer is one with a prosthetic arm, then Norman is automatically off our list," concluded Bryan.

" Alice, check out all the hospitals whether there has been any patient with a prosthetic arm who recently have any checkup to modify the arm or insert back the tube. Bryan, check if Xavier had any friends with a prosthetic arm. Angus, continue to keep an eye on Norman." Azri gave out his orders as the team faced a battle against the clock. They could not let the case drag any longer.

As the team left the meeting room after receiving their orders, Azri gave Angus a tug on the shoulders before he left. " Check where ***** has been these past few weeks and report to me every single activity." Azri whispered.

S1P8: The Monday Killer

" Mr Norman Liew, Where were you on 25 november from 10:30pm to 11pm?"
 At home
" Do you have any alibi to prove you were at home at that period of time?"
 No
" What were you doing at home?"
Studying the files of the three deceased. I told you i want the case solved ASAP.

Questions were fired thick and fast at Norman as the team had caught up with the chief suspect and were questioning him back at the investigation room.

" Well if you were studying the files of the three deceased, you would have notice one thing-and that is that they all have a scar on their left eyebrow."

"Just like you do."

"That was what i was about to tell you guys at today's meeting later. I suspect the killer has a fetish for guys with a scar on their left eyebrow. What? Are you guys suspecting me? How dare of you to suspect your head who is more desperate to solve the case than you are."

" Perharps the reason why you can't solve it is because you are the killer." Azri fired back. " All the clues points to you. The note, the eyebrow, and the fact you have no alibi makes you suspicious."
With that, the police detained Norman for the next 48 hours, and there was nothing else they could do. It felt like they had returned where they started from, with no concrete evidence about the killer and no idea what they could do to catch this man. Although Norman was suspicious, there was a feeling that he wasn't the Monday killer. With that in mind, they team headed off to the place where Xavier's body was found in an attempt find more clues. A futile attempt or a fruitful search?

S1P7: The Monday Killer

A myraid of post-its were stuck on the board back in the meeting room as clues came in thick and fast about the 'Monday Killer'
"All these points to Norman, doesnt it?" Azri declared, albeit with a hint of uncertainty.
" He has a motive, well sort of, to target Xavier after meeting and finding him an eyesore at the dinner. The note at the scene was clearly what he had said that day at the meeting room, when he was scolding us for not solving the case," Angus explained.

"How ironic of him to ask us to solve the case ASAP if he's the killer," Bryan muttered, the first few words that came out of his mouth after the incident.

"But how sure are we that its him? These clues arent strong enough to suggest much," Alice questioned while munching on her nachos.

"Wait a minute, i cant believe what i just found" Azri yelled having gone through the files of the three deceased. " This.. this is incredible"

" Have a look at the faces of the three. Can you guys see something familiar?" Azri exclaimed in excitement as he showed the team the pictures

" Whats so similar? They all dont look dashing?" Angus joked

" They... they all have a scar on their left eyebrow!" Bryan exclaimed as Alice choked on her nachos , presumably shocked at the coincidence.

" Yes! And whats more shocking is Norman himself has a cut at his left eyebrow too! Perharps there's a history between him and people with a scar on their left eyebrow?" Azri suggested while rapidly pressing buttons on his phone in an attempt to contact Norman's secretary. Angus though, did not seem convinced.

" Either that, or he would be the next victim."

S1P6: The Monday Killer

10:57pm
That was the time he had his last breathe
There layed his body.
Unlike the other deathes, only his hands were chopped off.
He wasn't tied up in a bag, his body just simply layed there at the street.
As the police cordoned off the area, Bryan sat down in anguish
Tears streamed down his face, he was inconsolable. The rest stood around him, but there was nothing they could do. They would not know how it feels like to lose your only remaining kin. To lose him to a person you have been tracking down for a period of time, but to no avail. To lose him to a serial killer that u cant stop even though its your responsibility to.

Azri inspected the body for evidences, but to no avail. Again, the killer was 'clean'. There were no fingerprints, clues or whatsoever left behind. At least that was what it seemed at first.

Upon closer inspection, Azri found a note beside Xavier's body.

" You guys are not trying hard enough huh?" the note stated.

"Why does that sound so familiar" Azri thought to himself as he shared his findings with the team, with Alice jus arriving to the scene having knocked off earlier. "Somewhere, at sometime, i heard this before!" Angus exclaimed.. "but when?"

S1P5: The Monday Killer

25 november 2011
10pm, the clock showed
"It's time to head home guys" Angus said, tiredly. The team had been in the office for the whole day, on the standby for any incidents. But their shift had ended, with the day going by peacefully with no cases.

"Its monday, is he not going to strike today?" Azri questioned. "Maybe he's tired. Its his day off today," Bryan joked.

" Lets stay for another 2 hours and see out the day. Alice should go back though before it gets any later. Aint safe for a girl to be around at this time," Azri ordered

As Alice packed her belongings and left the office, back at the meeting room, the team were still in deep thoughts. " Why has he not strike yet?" was the question ln everyone's mind." Angus, go check up on Norman. He's our only suspect at the moment, so we have got to make sure we know what he's doing," Azri said while busily flipping through documents

Tick tock, the clock ticked

" I cant locate Norman. His secretary said he had taken half day leave and has no clue where he is now," Angus yelled across the office as the team began packing their belongings with the time soon approaching midnight. Just then, the phone rang. The red-coloured wired phone in Azri's office. The phone that always rang whenever there was an accident. The phone they had been waiting for to ring for the entire day, rang just as they were about to knock off from work. 11:58pm was the time.

" He has struck again. " Azri came out of his office stating, but he had an unusual look on his face.

" Where's the body? Have they located who it is?"

"11 Toffee Avenue." Bryan's eyes widened.

" Its...its.. Xavier...at least that's what they told me on the phone." Azri said with a distraughted look on his face. Bryan dashed out of the office immediately

S1P4: The Monday Killer

22 november 2011, Friday.
It was the annual police force gathering-cum-dinner. Everyone who's part of the police force attends the dinner. The venue? Reetz carlton hotel, a six star hotel in the city. Posh and luxurious on the outside and inside, the hotel was one for the rich. Tucked in tuxedos and dresses, a crowd soon gathered at the ballroom booked for the event.

Azri and his team arrived as well, taking it as a chance to put their minds away from the case. "At least its not monday today," Azri sarcastically commented. However,it was a group of 5 today. Bryan had brought his brother, Xavier, along in an attempt for his shy brother to socialise . While the guys were in suits, Alice wore a dress with plunging neckline, attracting the attention of the guys around. She even managed to get the wink of a chief superintendant.

As the group settled down on a table and begin their 10-course dinner, Xavier quizzed Alice on her prosthetic arm. "It happened 3 years ago. A bloody lunatic hacked off my arm," Alice said, seemingly replaying the incident in her mind. "What about you?" Alice changed the subject before Xavier could ask more.

" Well, i live together with my brother and im still a student pursueing a degree. Heres our address, drop by sometime"

"Sure thing," Alice replied . The duo then took a polaroid, the trend these days. Just then, Norman dropped by the table. "Enjoying the dinner guys?" He asked, before firing a suspicious look at Xavier. "Whos that? I have never seen him around before."

"Someone with qualifications good enough to replace you," Angus jokingly said. The joke didnt go down too well with Norman, who fired another glare at Xavier.
As the dinner came to a close, Norman offered to drive the quintet home. On the journey back, Norman reminded the team on the case.

"Three more days to another monday, and we have no clue what we can do to stop this bloody killer. Like i've said, the chiefs want this case to be solved ASAP"

"Dont worry, im sure we will get a clue from the next murder. No murder is perfect, clues will definitely be left behind,"Azri said. "How many more lives are we gonna waste?" Alice asked, but there were no replies. They didnt had a choice. With more lives lost, the more clues they will have.
